A time line of "King of the Four Corners of the World" :

  • 558 - The beginning of the reign of Kourosh in Anshan (south-west of actual Iran) and transfer of the Achaemenid capital to Susa.
  • 550 - Defeat of Ishtvigo, king of Mede by Kourosh and his subsequent conquest of Hegmatane. Alliance of Mede and Persia.
  • 549-548 - Kourosh conquers Parthia, Jorjan and actual Kavkaz countries.
  • 546 - Kourosh conquers Lydian's capital and defeats Lydian King Croesus.
  • 539 - Kourosh conquers Babylon, the richest city in West Asia. A fall that occurred with the no resistance of the Babylonian army on the banks of the Tigris River.
  • 529 - Kourosh invades the Scythian tribes in northeastern Iran and is killed in battle with the Masagets. He was buried in Pasargad. After him, Cambyses II, son of Kourosh, ascended the throne.
  • 1879 - The Kourosh Cylinder was discovered in Babylon (actual Irak) and was taken to London's British Museum.
  • 1971- The United Nations published the Kourosh Cylinder as the Charter of Human Rights in six official languages and a copy of which is kept at the United Nations Headquarter in New York City.
  • October 29th - Kourosh the Great, Day.
